ive always been very curious as to why my parents decided it was a good idea to put my surname before my name like how the chinese do. it just sounds odd. and ive never met anyone with an ordinary name(meaning not a chinese-ish name) whose surname is in front. thats like one of the first questions i get asked when people get to know my name. oh and if im related to andrea decruz. which im not. i mean i dont go asking every tan if theyre related to the other tan do i? its quite annoying. so anyway, i was also curious to find out about the meaning of my name. cause well, my parents didnt name me kelly because they thought it had an extraodinary meaning. kelly is after an old school charlie's angel(i thank god everyday that im not sabrina) ,ronette is after a lady who got raped and killed(im not lying) and dcruz, well thats my dads surname. i was like this close to being sabrina or olivia. im so grateful im kelly instead. michelle thinks its because my parents thought id be stupid so they gave me a name which is easy to spell.one thing i dont understand is people who call their children roger or robert or george or other old man names. i mean when you look at a cute new born baby sleeping peacefully(or maybe screaming its head of), is the first think you think really ''oh yay i can call him george now''. WHY. little babies arent supposed to be georges and rogers. those names are saved specifically for old man(above 55) who feel like living on the edge and to them changing their name seems rebellius enough so they choose something rediculous like roger. everyone knows that.
i guess it gives them excitement. i can so picture a man in a retirement home who changed his name from mark to roger then his best friend comes to him and is all like 'hey mark' and he smiles sheepishly thinking to himself 'hehe he thinks im mark when im actually roger!! oh god im such a rebel. im a prankster. tricking everyone!! hehe'
